I've loved children's literature all my life. Once I became a teacher, that love continued to flourish, but now I had an eager audience to share it with. After seeing how much my students adored each story time, I was inspired to start writing adventures of my own. Being able to add a personal creative flair to all of the stories has been wonderful. I try to add a bit of humor, relatability, and imagination to each story. My goal is to write something that the reader wants to return to over and over.
I grew up in Pennsylvania with my mom and 3 older brothers. I graduated from IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania) with a bachelors degree in Early childhood Education. I taught pre-k for 2 years at Grand Beginnings Daycare. I moved to Maryland in 2006. I taught kindergarten for 7 years at Frank Hebron Harman Elementary in Hanover and then 4 years at Patterson Park Public Charter School in Baltimore City. I currently teach 2nd grade at Laurel Mountain Elementary in Austin.
My husband Dave and I met in 2013 while living in Baltimore and have been happily married since 2015. He is my biggest supporter and I don't think I could have done this without him. We moved to Austin, TX in the summer of 2017 and we expanded our family by 4 feet when we got our puppy, Harvey, in 2018. We love traveling, movies, comedy shows, music, and reading.
